From start to finish, my experience with Shore Acres Chesapeakes was absolutely incredible. Beginning with the very first update about the litter to the day we brought our puppy (Rory) home, Basia and Nick went above and beyond to make us feel apart of the process. The thoughtful emails, photos, and videos they shared showed just how much care and dedication they put into raising their puppies.
It’s easy to see that they’re not just breeders—they’re passionate about what they do and the litters they raise! Our puppy is everything we hoped for: confident, smart, and full of personality. Basia and Nick do a tremendous job making sure each pup is socialized, sensitized and on the right path of basic training before you even come to pickup your newest family member.
I can’t recommend Shore Acres Chesapeakes highly enough, if you’re thinking of adding a Chessie into your life I highly suggest reaching out to them —truly a 5‑star experience from wonderful people who love what they do.

We cannot say enough good things about Shore Acres Chesapeakes. From the very beginning (letting us now when Rayne was pregnant) to the end (gotcha day), it was by far the best experience we could have had. The videos, posts, pictures, emails…. It made us feel 100% apart of the journey. Not only are Basia and Nick the nicest people but they truly put their heart and soul into raising quality puppies/Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. They are the best!

We purchased our puppy from Shore Acres Chesapeakes in mid-October of 2021 when he was 8 weeks old. From initial contact filling out the application with SAC, even until now in mid-December, their communication has been great.
The pups were kept in clean and safe living conditions with both of the parents, and they were all well cared for. The pups’ socialization had already begun by the time we brought him home (which I greatly appreciated as we have two young children and another dog in our home).
So far, the health of our pup has been great. Our guy is looking like he is going to be on the bigger side, likely larger than breed standard; but if I remember correctly, he was one of the largest, if not *the* largest, in his litter. But our vet said that he is very proportional and in great health.
He had already had his first round of shots and was dewormed when we got him.
Overall, purchasing our Chessie from SAC was a great experience and we plan to stay in touch. If we decide on another Chessie in the future, we will certainly be checking back with Shore Acres. I’ll try to remember to provide an update to this review in the future when our pup is older, but definitely 5/5 stars.

As we come up on the 4th bday of our boy I wanted to come and provide an update. We have not encountered any health issues from our guy and he was about 95lbs at last weigh in. He has continued to be a loving member of our home, tolerating our two young children exceedingly well; and has had no issues when we host family gatherings or parties. He has trained quite well in obedience and walks wonderfully on leash. I get compliments about him all the time. We absolutely love our boy and are grateful to have him in our home.

We got our chessie puppy from Shore Acres this April and we couldn’t be more pleased with how great this puppy is. She was almost completely house trained, is not shy of loud noises and adapted to our other chessie very quickly. The care and love that Basia and Nick put into rearing these puppies really has payed off and we are very happy with the result. Basia posted updates and pictures of the pups almost daily and we could see the very caring and stimulating environment that she was raised in.

I searched a year for a chessie breeder that knows about good behavioral stimulation and neural development before I found shore acres. Now I have my pup and it’s obvious the difference when the breeder knows what they are doing. The pup is fantastic. It is worth driving all the way from Maryland. The world needs more breeders for working dogs like this.

After much research, we decided to go with Shore Acres Chesapeakes. We wanted a family dog and a hunting dog and Shore Acres Chesapeakes delivered nothing less. In fact, they delivered much more than I could have ever expected. Ruby(our new pup) is extremely intelligent, very trainable, absolutely beautiful, and the best mannered pup I have ever met. From the day we picked up Ruby she was almost potty trained with the use of a doggy door, and very well behaved! Ruby is a pup from Tesla and Duke’s early 2023 litter. Ruby is well on her way to becoming a phenomenal hunting dog and I can’t wait to watch her preform this fall! My favorite aspect of Shore acres Chesapeakes is that Basia(owner of Shore Acres) genuinely cared about us and the puppies. In todays world that’s not as easy to come by as it used to be. If I could rate my experience 10 starts I certainty would! Great dogs, and great people!

We were really impressed and have been really happy with Basia and Shore Acres Chesapeakes. Our pup came home and adapted quickly into our household with another 18 month old Labrador. It was plainly obvious that Basia had put in a lot of time and effort in working with all the dogs to ensure they were healthy, responsive, curious and well adjusted pups that were eager to get out and explore the world. We couldn’t be happier with Riva!

We acquired our male puppy on March 18, 2023. He is such a joy to have as part of our family. We are very impressed with not only the care Shore Acres Chesapeakes gave to the pups from the time they were born, but also the love, socialization and training given to them.
Our pup came to us almost house trained and he was used to being in a kennel at night. We had told Basia we would be kenneling him at night, so she trained him to sleep in the kennel before we picked him up. If we were to consider another Chessie, we would go to Shore Acres Chesapeakes without a doubt. We can’t thank them enough for our sweet boy.

We got our puppy in July 2022. I wish I could adequately convey the great attention to detail that Bashia provides in the care and nurturing of her dogs litters. Every step is thought out with great love and she and her husband have passion in the raising of the puppies. The process of adoption was clearly communicated and she continues to support families after adoption. We highly recommend Shore Acres.
