If you’re interested in a future Shore Acres pup, we welcome you to apply for our Winter/Spring 2027 (Rayne x Duke) litter waitlist. This planned litter has an approximate go-home date of April 2027.

The pairing of Rayne x Duke produces outstanding Chesapeakes who embody the best of both worlds: athleticism and affection, grit and grace. These pups are bred for versatility — excelling in active companion homes, field work, dock diving, therapy and service training, and scent-based sports. Limited AKC Registration: $3000.00 male/female

What Comes with Your Shore Acres Puppy?

At Shore Acres Chesapeakes, we prioritize the long-term health and wellness of our dogs. Our breeding dogs undergo extensive genetic testing to ensure litters are free of inherited, breed-specific diseases. We guarantee all puppies to be non-affected by the following genetic conditions common in Chesapeake Bay Retrievers:

  • Degenerative Myelopathy – DM
  • Progressive Retinal Atrophy – PRA
  • Exercise-Induced Collapse – EIC
  • Ectodermal Dysplasia – ED

We further guarantee:

  • Hips and Elbows to pass OFA Evaluation up to 28 months
  • Eyes to pass the OFA CERF Exam up to 16 months.

We’re committed to giving your puppy the best possible start. Every puppy is raised with care and intention in our home, backed by proven programs and a strong health foundation.

PUPPY TRAINING, ENRICHMENT & APTITUDE TESTING

All puppies are raised with intention and care, using the Puppy Culture Rearing Program from birth. This method supports emotionally resilient, well-socialized, and confident dogs. Your puppy will be introduced to:

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
  • Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
  • Early Potty Training & Introduction to House Training – with use of a doggy door
  • Basic Obedience – Sit, Leave it, and Recall
  • Manding (automatically sits when approaching people)
  • Daily Handling and Individual Cuddle Sessions
  • Basic Socialization – adult dogs, cats, and a variety of adults and children
  • Startle Recovery Drills
  • Problem-Solving Exercises

We administer the Volhard Puppy Aptitude test to assist in matching the right pup to each family’s unique preferences (hunting, companion, service dog, etc)
